Appalachian Still in Greenfield -- Thursday, May 22nd 7:30 -- suggested $5-15

Greetings, Mountain Road Music Friends!

I am pleased to announce that our final house concert for the spring will be the fantastic Appalachian Still on Thursday, May 22nd at 7:30. As always, come around 7 if you want to hang out -- now it's warm enough for screened-porch-sitting!

The suggested donation for the concert is $5-15 -- the band says it's a wide range, but they want folks to pay what is comfortable. FYI, all door proceeds go directly to the musicians -- we strongly believe that we ought to pay the musicians for their talents, energy, and time!

Below is some info about the band. We will be taking a hiatus for the summer after this concert (it will be too hot in the dining room by June, anyway), but plan to resume concerts in September or October.

As always, please RSVP to Mountainroadmusic@gmail.com. Hope to see you there!

Best,

Amanda

Appalachian Still is an acoustic string band out of Northampton, Massachusetts playing a toe-tapping mix of Alternative Old-time, Americana, Folk, and Bluegrass subtly enhanced with flavors of Jazz, Rock, and Country. This New England group has managed to create a unique sound that is distinctly their own yet remains rooted in the heart of Appalachia. Drawing from a repertoire of traditional tunes, original material and some covers, the feeling they create ranges from a rafters-shaking barn party at which dancing fools hoot and holler to the wee hours of the morning to that of sitting on the front porch in the lazy days of summer, pickin', grinnin', and enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

Band members include: Andrew Woodland: Clawhammer Banjo, Vocals, Management & Booking Jared Libby: Guitar, banjo-uke, dobro, Vocals, Recording/engineering Len Haggerty: Mandolin Jane Hamel: Fiddle, Bluegrass Banjo, Guitar Andrea Asprelli: Fiddle Other band-members and folks who have played with us: Mandolin: Levin Schwartz, Leslie King; Fiddle: Joshua Relin, Alix Whithoft; Bass: Mike Pattavina, Eric Colbeck, Johnny Wrench, Ramsey Kurdi, Thomas Major, Matt Hansen, Joe Blumenthal, Zachary Swanson; Banjo: Diane Sanabria (AKA Banjo Queen of the Pioneer Valley)

GIRL HOWDY IN THE LIVING ROOM!

Make Friday night (5/9) Official "Eat Dinner Out" Night!!

Of all the nights of the week and of all the places we've played, let me tellya friends, THIS is the one to hit! If you've not had the fortune to visit the Dream Away Lodge in Becket, MA now is a great opportunity. The cuisine is out-of-this-world fabulous, truly gourmet, complete with a full bar too!

Nestled in the beautiful Berkshire hills, this 200 year old farmhouse has been a best kept secret, with a musical history going waaay back. It was also featured in Bob Dylan's film "Renaldo and Clara" and visited by Joan Baez & Allen Ginsberg. After your sublime dinner, you can rest easy and kick back on the deep, comfy couches in the livingroom and enjoy a very intimate show with Girl Howdy.

For this intimate setting, this evening will be our maiden voyage playing with a stripped to the core trio line-up of Paula, Beedee & Rose – "PBR" respectively! Come on out, and share this special evening with us!
